Dr. Sun is a process engineer at Hazen and Sawyer and visiting scholar at the University of California, Irvine. Her research is aligned with the overarching goal of creating engineering solutions and strategies to improve the sustainability of wastewater and biosolids management whilst addressing emerging challenges, such as climate uncertainties, rapid urbanization, and emerging contaminants. Currently, she primary practices in biosolids management and biological nutrient removal, and is active in the research fields including microplastics in WRRFs and innovative treatment technologies.
