Vieux, Baxter
Dr. Vieux is an expert in hydrology with specialties in radar-based precipitation estimation, statistical analysis and design storm development, and distributed physics-based hydrologic modeling. He is a registered professional engineer in four states and is principal and co-founder of Vieux & Associates, Inc. As Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Vieux supervises development of radar rainfall monitoring, runoff modeling and forecasting services. He has authored more than 110 publications in hydrology, including a recent research monograph, “Distributed Hydrologic Modeling Using GIS,” Water Science and Technology Library, Vol. 74, 3rd edition (2016); and the widely-used textbook by Bedient, Huber, and Vieux, Hydrology and Floodplain Analysis, 5th edition, Prentice Hall. Additionally, he is a co-inventor of US Pat. No. 7,136,756 - Method for Determining Runoff. Dr. Vieux participates in professional societies and scientific organizations including the American Meteorological Society, ASCE Environmental and Water Resources Institute, and the Water Environment Federation Collection Systems and WEFTEC.
